ION PETRE

 

Ion Petre is Professor of Computer Science at Åbo Akademi University. He obtained his PhD in Mathematics in 2002 from University of Turku, Finland. Since then he held full time positions at Åbo Akademi University (assistant professor, full professor) and Academy of Finland (research fellow).

 

He is the head of the Computer Science programs at Åbo Akademi University and a vice-director of Turku Centre for Computer Science. His research group is the Computational Biomodeling Laboratory at Turku Centre for Computer Science and Åbo Akademi.

 

Ion Petre has published about 100 papers, 1 book, and is a co-editor of 10 books and special issues of international journals.

 

ROBERT MERCAS

 

Robert Mercas received his PhD in 2010 from the University Rovira i Virgili, in Tarragona, Spain, and was for two years, starting 2011, an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Magdeburg. In 2013, he moved to Kiel University, in the Dependable Systems Group.

 

His research interest spans over combinatorics on words, algorithms on sequences and formal languages.

 

To date he has more than 30 works presented at international conferences or published in different international journals.

GABRIEL ISTRATE

 

Gabriel Istrate is Researcher in the Theoretical Computer Science Group associated with the Mathematics and Computer Science Department of the West University of Timisoara and the e-Austria Research Institute. He received his PhD in 1999 from the Rochester University (USA) after getting his BD from the University of Bucharest in 1994.

 

His research interests are computational complexity, probabilistic analysis of algorithms, phase transitions in combinatorial problems, theoretical foundations of complex systems, simulation of multiagent systems, game theory, combinatorial and algorithmic methods in economics and networks.
